Upload button not working

The plugin has been installed successfully on WP version 2.9.2 with BuddyPress.  I can navigate to the Media Component page & select a file to upload (.jpg, .mov, etc.).  

However, there is no response at all when I click "upload." There is also no response if I click on the trash icon to remove the file from the list of items to upload.  Please see attached screenshot of the screen after clicking "Upload."
Please advise.
